Baarbad Ensemble

Baarbad Music was founded by Mehdi Rezania and Toloe Roushenas in 2004 with the goal of producing a unique and artistic sound based on classical music of west and east. With every performance Baarbad has introduced a unique orchestration and arrangement an example of which is a double recital of santur & violin in fall 2010. All the members of Baarbad ensemble are university graduates of music programs with a strong background in various classical and hybrid music of different cultures. The music genres of Baarbad ensemble extend from Persian classical to folklore music of Central Asia and Western classical music. Baarbad has performed many concerts across Ontario and Montreal on a regular basis. Baarbad Ensemble will collaborate with Sinfonia Toronto in the fall 2011 performance of a composition by Mehdi Rezania for Persian instruments and string symphony.

In Tirgan 2011 Baarbad will perform a program including Persian Classical, Folklore and new compositions with a contemporary sonority and harmony.
