Organizational Structure
Tirgan Centre for Art and Culture is a nonpartisan, non-religious, non-profit Canadian registered
charitable organization and Friends of Tirgan USA is a nonpartisan, non-religious, non-profit, USregistered
501(c)(3) public charity. Collectively, the Tirgan Organization (“Tirgan”) is committed to celebrating and promoting Iranian and Persian arts and culture, while fostering meaningful cross-cultural dialogue among local communities, their host societies, and the broader global community through the year-round production of artistic and cultural programs and festivals.
Tirgan operates through a multi-layered governance and leadership structure designed to support its expanding international presence while ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective execution.
In Canada: Tirgan is registered as a non-profit charity organization and is governed by a Board of Trustees, which provides overarching strategic oversight and stewardship of Tirgan’s mission. Operational governance is carried out through the Board of Directors in Canada.
In the United States: Tirgan is registered as a 501(c)3 public charity and is lead by the Board of Directors in the United States, with additional guidance from Tirgan USA’s Advisory Board. These independent boards select an integrated executive team to carry out the projects and initiatives. Additionally, the executive Office oversees the organization’s core functional departments, including Programming, Marketing, Funding, Public Relations, Operations, and Production.
This structure enables Tirgan to operate at scale while maintaining strong governance, strategic alignment, and excellence in execution across all initiatives.
