Maliheh Moradi

Maliheh Moradi a virtuoso Iranian vocalist of the Persian Radif repertoire will perform in our Nowruz media program. With her performance, she will make us more familiar with the teachings of her masters, Shajarian and Parisa. She became acquainted with music through her father, a Persian Ney player, and entered the field of music as a child by playing the Tombak and learning to sing. Maliheh Moradi and her ensemble perform a Tasnif by the poet and composer Mohammad Ali Amir Jahed, as a homage to the famous Iranian singer Ghamar’ol Molouk Vaziri. Tasnif is one of the several forms of Persian music and can be considered as the Persian equivalent of the ballad.
