The mural video art is the outcome of collaboration between illustrator, Azarakhsh Farahani, and video artist, Paniz Rafieimehr. It is the very first experience of fusion of illustrations inspired by the miniature art, and video mapping, which is a relatively newer form of digital art in Iran.
The Murals exhibition is a multifaceted space, integrating animation, music, poetry, and literature into a unified concept, using illustrations of Azarakhsh’s latest solo exhibition.
This project was originally exhibited under the title of “Colors” in Brussels, Paris, Düsseldorf, and Berlin in smaller spaces. The second version, entitled "Murals" which was exhibited in a twenty-five meters length at Ariana Art Gallery, Tehran in February 2019, Wilson Abbey, Chicago Jun 2019, The Mitte Culture centre, Düsseldorf, July 2019 and Botte Art Gallery, Toronto, September 2017.
The illustrations come to life, dance, sing, and get involved in dramatic stories. The video is a series consisted of eight short episodes. Figures and motifs, originally drawn on paper, and purposely created for illustrations and not video, repeatedly creep into stories of different episodes.
The video dimensions are 7650*1080 pixels.A 3840*1500-pixel version has been created as well.
The video art is one of a kind and surely will be remembered among art exhibitions
