Touka Neyestani

Touka Neyestani was born in Shahrood, Iran in 1960. He is a well known caricaturist and architect. His father, Manouchehr Neyestani was a poet and his brother Mana is also a caricaturist. He graduated fom the Science and Industry University in Tehran majoring in architecture in 1987. His professional career as a cartoonist and caricaturist began in 1979 in the " Book of Friday" weekly under the supervision of Ahmad Shamloo. Since then, Touka has collaborated with more than 50 publications, and has also been selected twice as the best Cartoonist by the Iranian Press Festival. He immigrated to Canada in 2011, and now resides in Toronto.
