Nikki Alagha

Nikki Alagha started classes at Vancouver Pars National Ballet (VPNB) when she was 9. Her parents enrolled her in the classes because they wanted her to remain in touch with her roots. She has been in the performance group for 13 years now, and her favourite dance is Ghasemabadi. She finds it intoxicating in the best way because the beat of the music forces you to move with your whole body. Alagha loves Iranian folk dance because it reminds her of her ancestors, and in some ways shows her what life must have been like for them. She does it because She is proud to be Persian.
