Narges is a PhD candidate in socio-cultural Anthropology at New York University and a documentary filmmaker in NYU’s Culture and Media Program. Narges’ research focuses on pro-regime cultural producers in Iran. Narges is the director of
The Skin That Burns
, a documentary film about survivors of chemical warfare in Iran, distributed by Film Media Group. As the recipient of the Susan Knafel Fellowship, Narges spent three semesters researching at the University of Tehran’s Faculty of Law and Political Science, and developing projects focused on the victims of chemical weapons during the Iran-Iraq War. Narges is the co-founder of
Iranian Alliances Across Borders (IAAB)
, and is the Director of IAAB's YAR Fellowship, the first Iran study-abroad program that brings together advanced university students and young professionals for a yearlong fellowship focusing on developing transmedia projects about Iran.
