Ann Marie Fleming

Ann Marie Fleming (producer • director • writer) is an award-winning Canadian artist and filmmaker of Chinese and Australian descent. She consistently makes work of cultural significance that spans documentary, drama and animation genres and often deals with themes of family, history, memory and the intersection of cultures.

Ann Marie has been producing, writing and directing films for almost 30 years and has received funding from Arts Councils across North America, Germany, The National Film Board of Canada, Telefilm Canada and has been commissioned by the Discovery Channel USA and the CBC. Stickgirl, Ann Marie’s avatar, has appeared in over a dozen short films, webisodes and has her own poetry iPhone app. She brings all of her history of intellectual curiosity and openness to the character of Rosie Ming, the heroine of Window Horses, who is voiced by long time friend and Golden-Globe-winning actress Sandra Oh, who is recognizable to millions of fans around the world as Cristina Yang from “
Grey’s Anatomy
”. Together they stand (up) for diversity, intelligence, integrity, tolerance with humour.
