Aali Badihi

Aali Badihi was born in Abadan, Iran where she completed her elementary and high schools before moving to Tehran to start her undergrad studies in Philosophy at University of Tehran in 1968. Upon finishing her B.S. program in Philosophy, she joined the National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents (SAMPAD) as a literature teacher. She started her own fashion design studio, Anahita, in 1989 and later did a second B.S (1995 to 1998) and an M.S (1998 to 1999) in Arts (Painting). For over 20 years, she has taught courses on Fundamentals of Art, Painting and Art Education in Tehran Azad University and Tehran Teachers Training University. The art school she founded in 2003, Omid Shayestegan, was active until 2012 when she left Iran. She moved to Canada in 2013 where she started her new art and fashion design studio, Omid. Since her arrival in Canada, she has attended courses in entrepreneurship in arts and art management. Besides painting, and teaching arts, she is currently designing high end fashion in Toronto. Her designs reflect her manifesto in relations between different art disciplines from music to painting to fashion design.
