reimagined for the world stage

Registered and operating in two countries, Canada and USA, “Tirgan” is a non-partisan, non-religious, non-profit Canadian registered charitable organization and “Friends of Tirgan USA” is a non-partisan, non-religious, non-profit, US-registered 501(c)(3) public charity.
The Tirgan Organization (“Tirgan”) is committed to celebrating and promoting Iranian and Persian arts and culture, while fostering meaningful cross-cultural dialogue among local communities, their host societies, and the broader global community through the year-round production of artistic and cultural programs and festivals.
The organization is governed by two independent Boards of Directors, one for the Canadian charity and one for the U.S. charity, and is managed by an executive
team. Its financial records are audited annually by professional accountants, and the reports are published each year on Tirgan’s website.
Tirgan offers more than cultural programming; it creates a shared space for voice, belonging, and healing. By celebrating Iranian art and culture, fostering dialogue, reconnecting younger generations with their roots, and bridging divides across age and background, Tirgan strengthens the social and cultural fabric of the Iranian diaspora.
In times of hardship and fragmentation, it provides a space for collective healing, where shared heritage reminds the community not only of where it comes from,
but also of what continues to unite it.
Tirgan also fosters cross-cultural dialogue and supports the integration of the community into the broader fabric of its host societies.
By organizing diverse cultural and artistic programs, Tirgan helps second- and third-generation immigrants reconnect with their heritage. Through educational workshops, artistic programs, and cultural festivals, younger generations become more familiar with Iranian culture, art, and history.
This connection strengthens their sense of identity, boosts self-confidence, and increases their chances of success.
Now more than ever, preserving and gathering around our culture is not simply a celebration, it is an act of unity, continuity, and collective strength. Culture allows a community not only to celebrate its heritage, but to process pain, honor its resilience, and reaffirm its identity. In moments when many feel fragmented, displaced, or unheard, Tirgan becomes a platform for connection, healing, and cultural resilience.
