Maryam Hafizirad's artwork of UNMASKED is one of the collections of Deaf View Image Art (De’VIA). It is a genre of visual arts that represents the Deaf experience or culture. Deaf people are regularly stereotyped based on little knowledge and stigma about their experiences. As a successful Deaf woman, the artist finds herself being stereotyped often. UNMASKED will give its audience a unique experience and perspective on Deaf culture. The exhibition will be a mixed media visual arts exhibition including oil, acrylic, watercolour, vitra, photography, paper, wood and metal hinges.
