Maryam Toumrai

Maryam Toumrai

An Iranian Canadian vocalist with years of training in western classical singing, Maryam is a graduate of York University Creative Arts program. She has been active in the Toronto community for over 20 years, and her CD of Persian love songs, “Under Your Spell” was very well received in 1996. Wholenote magazine’s review of the CD said: “Maryam Toumrai is another fine example of what the world has to offer”.

She is also a creative writer who has written three plays. She recently performed her one woman show entitled “In Search of the Beloved”, a play in English while incorporating singing in three different languages and genres at Canada Culture Days in Toronto.
Maryam Toumrai will present a duo in Tirgan 2011.
