Hamid Motebassem

Hamid Motebassem has established himself as a master of traditional Persian music by his numerous innovative creations and performances all over the globe. His crisp and fresh compositions are rooted deeply in the old tradition of Persian music and filled with stunning unpredictable turns and twists leading to new vistas. In recent years, he has taken the path less traveled by composing and performing pieces inspired by Ferdowsi’s “Book of Kings” in his monumental “Simorq” project (www.simorq.org). A wide variety of musical styles, instruments, and tonalities were employed in this masterpiece to capture moments of birth, love, parting, longing and union in the eventful life of protagonist, Zal. Motebassem’s “Shoorideh” Album has won a prize from French Ministry of Culture and the title of “Musical Shock” from Le Monde newspaper. He is the founder of Pardis International Orchestra (supported by Schunck Cultural Centre in Heerlen, Netherlands) and Dastan Ensemble and his numerous performances have been well received by music lovers across the world. Hamid Motebassem will present his vision of “Eternity” by premier orchestra performance of “Pardis” that is accompanied by rising star vocalist, Salar Aghili.
