Saeed Kamjoo

Saeed Kamjoo received his BA in music from the music department at the University of Tehran and further studied Kamancheh with Aliakbar Shekarchi and Asghar Bahari. While he was trained in traditional Persian music, his style of Kamancheh blends authenticity and innovation together. He has collaborated with numerous ensembles in North America and Europe and has recorded
many albums. Kamjoo has been invited to perform at many music festivals, especially in Canada, the U.S., Mexico, and China. In 2012 he composed music for a string quartet and voice, which was based on the poetry of Umar Khayyam.
