Ian Sweetman

Ian Sweetman (Puppeteer) is a professional puppeteer who has performed in venues all along the East Coast. Disney fans may have seen his work at “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”, “Bear in the Big, Blue House – Live” and “The Voyage of the Little Mermaid” among others. More recently, Ian has been a freelance puppeteer and builder working on various projects in the New York City area. Ian earned a Master’s of Fine Arts in Puppetry from the University of Connecticut and is uniquely adept at all forms of puppetry, from marionettes to masks, and hand puppets to shadow puppets. Originally from the White Mountains in Arizona, Ian currently lives in New York City and works in the Metropolitan Opera Costume Shop.
