“The Case of Metranpazhem” by Alexander Vampilov, the Russian playwright, is a great comedy written at 1971. The play is targeting the dilemma, 50 years after the Russian Revolution in 1971 and eighteen years after the passing of Joseph Stalin; the time of growing optimism and hope among Russian intellectuals to regain the manifesto of long-gone revolution and establishing social-cultural reforms.
The play is a presentation of cultural complications and problems of the Russian society such as accusations, fraud, doubt, lies, treasons, and misjudgments. In this intense yet intelligent comedy, problems; that although based on specific time and location are still our everyday issues in modern society, are focused on.
