Kourosh Babaei

We are excited to announce Kourosh Babaie as one of the performers of this year’s Tirgan Nowruz festival. Kourosh is an Iranian Kamancheh Player, composer, and master of Persian classical & traditional music. He started music lessons when he was a child and continued studying traditional arrangements and playing Kamancheh under maestro Ardeshir Kamkar's supervision. Babaei has played with several famous and great Iranian traditional musicians such as Faramarz Payvar, Parviz Meshkatian and Hooshang Zarif. Kourosh is one of the Iranian musician pioneers who try to bring new ideas. He has been nominated for the best Persian musical instrument player in the "Musicema" festival. Kourosh Babaei has recently moved to Toronto, and he is currently teaching and performing Kamancheh and expanding more of his music there.

جشنواره نوروزی سال ۱۴۰۰ تیرگان در روز ۲ آوریل میزبان گروه موسیقی آوای شرقی به سرپرستی کورش بابایی خواهد بود. کورش بابایی در سال ۱۳۵۰ در آبادان به دنیا آمد و نوازندگی ویلن را از ابتدای نوجوانی آغاز کرد. پس از مدتی به کمانچه علاقه‌مند شد و تکنیک‌های نوین این ساز را نزد اردشیر کامکار آموخت. کورش در ادامه افتخار همکاری با اساتیدی برجسته نظیر پرویز مشکاتیان و فرامرز پایور را پیدا کرد و علاوه بر نوازندگی کمانچه، دوره‌های مختلف آهنگسازی را نیز پیمود. او از سال ۲۰۱۶ در کانادا زندگی می‌کند و هم‌اکنون مشغول تدریس موسیقی و آهنگسازی است. کوروش دانش‌آموخته‌ی رشته‌ی طراحی گرافیک است و در این زمینه نیز فعالیت حرفه‌ای دارد. در ویژه برنامه‌ی‌ نوروز امسال جشنواره تیرگان، کورش به عنوان سرپرست گروه آوای شرقی با خوانندگی فریبا داوودی به روی صحنه خواهد رفت
