Sheida Arjmandi

Dancer

Sheida Arjmandi began training with Vancouver Pars National Ballet (VPNB) in the Summer of 2003 after she saw the group perform and wanted to be part of it. She took classical ballet and hip hop, and figure skating throughout childhood and high school. Her very first VPNB show (part of the kids/preteens class) was 14 years ago. She loves the folk dances from the western regions in Iran, namely Armani, Azari and Kordi. Arjmandi loves the diversity of Iranian folk dances and the way you can trace each type of dance to the customs, culture and traditions of the region. She also loves that it’s rooted in thousands and thousands of years of history, and she does it so that she can be part of a major effort to keep that history alive.
