Dr. Persis Karim, inaugural chair of the newly-established Center for Iranian Diaspora Studies at San Francisco State University discusses some of the pioneering work she has been engaged with in developing the emerging field of Iranian Diaspora Studies. In addition to being an editor of three anthologies of Iranian diaspora literature, she has also collaborated on various art projects with artists in the US and Iran, and in her role as the founding director of Persian Studies at San Jose State University hosted two conferences on cultures of the Iranian diaspora.
