The name of the program, Sounds of Persia, has been chosen to promote the sense of unity between various Iranian ethnic groups and showcase the musical artistic values of our motherland, Iran. Kurdish and Gilaki songs performed, have been arranged by Shahou Andalibi based on his research and first hand experiences living in these areas as well as the artistic interconnection of folkloric and traditional Persian music.
The performance of the Andalib Ensemble led by Shahou Andalibi, will be presented in two parts.
Part 1: Persian classical music including improvisations featuring Mastro Majid Derakhshani at the Tar, Shaou Andalibi at the Ney and Pedram Khavarzamini at the Tombak.
Part 2: Andalib Ensemble will play Kurdish folkloric music (Shahou Andalibi composer and vocalist) as well as Gilaki pieces.
