Description of Work on Exhibition at Tirgan 2015:
Silence
72”*48” - Acrylic on canvas - mixed media
In recent years, my beloved homeland has been through a most difficult period, witnessing war, peace, heavy sanctions, and even stealthy freedom for its people.
In this piece of art, the voice of my people is visualized using musical notes, because notes represent sounds. Red, black, and white notes depict war, protest, and peace.
Black notes portray rage and anger, whereas white ones illustrate a silence louder than a scream. The dove represents the people and the raven represents dictatorship.
Using harmony and modulation, I have tried to tell my story of a dark past and express my hope of a better future for my country.
