Call for Submission to Tirgan Short Film Competition.


Application Deadline: April 30, 2011

Tirgan 2011 invites filmmakers to submit their films to the Short Films Competition in Tirgan Artistic program. Films and videos meeting the following requirements will be considered for further detailed review by the panel of judges: 

  1. Subject – related to Iran (i.e. Iranian arts and culture, social, political, and historical issues of Iran, and Iranian communities outside Iran).
  2. Length – Maximum 10 min.
  3. Year – Made after 2007 or never screened before.
  4. Type – Fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental
  5. Subtitles – English
  6. Submission – Postmarked on or before April 30,  2011

 

A complete submission will carry the following information:
Title of the film
Name/family name of the filmmaker
Filmmaker’s contact information
Country of production
Length
Year of production
Synopsis
Format (35 mm, DigiBeta, Beta SP, etc)
Other festivals / contents the work has been presented

Submissions will be evaluated by a selection committee. Six to eight films will be selected for screening. Two films will be chosen from the selected ones by a jury as the Best Film and Best Canadian Film, and one film will be voted by people as the winner of the Audience Award.
