Farrokh Vahabzadeh

Farrokh Vahabzadeh holds a PhD in Social Anthropology and Ethnology from the School of Higher Studies in Social Sciences of Paris (EHESS). He has also completed a three-year postdoctorate at the Faculty of Music of University of Montreal. His field of research is ethnomusicology with special interest on the image and gestures of the musicians in different cultures.
As an artist, Farrokh Vahabzadeh is also interested in different areas of art including photography, music, literature, sculpture, and painting. This versatility widens his horizons to what he can reconfigure and experiment with and the different angles of his vision of the world both in its surreal and real dimensions.
During the last fifteen years, he has had several solo and collective exhibitions of his photographic and visual art works in Iran, Canada and France. Amongst his achievements in photography, the prize (collective) for "la photo scientifique" in «L’homme en image, images de l’Homme» of Université Paris Descartes (2008) and the “Prix de Public” of CafeLitt’s first (2009) and second (2010) International Photo Contest may be mentioned. He has also been a jury member of several photo contests.
