Keyan Emami
Music
Keyan Emami is the president, cofounder, and one of the composers of IranianCanadian Composers of Toronto (ICOT). He is a doctoral candidate in music composition at the University of Toronto on full fellowship under the supervision of Professor Christos Hatzis, and is currently working there as a teaching assistant.
Keyan is an accomplished composer, with a wide variety of instrumental andvocal works including symphonic, operatic, chamber, and solo pieces, as well as music for theatre productions, film and television. He is an associate composer of Canadian Music Centre, SOCAN foundation and the Canadian League of Composers.
Keyan has several years of teaching experience at the Art University of Tehran, Azad University, and Tehran Conservatory of Music, where he offered different music courses including piano, music theory, composition, and solfège. He also holds the positions of the founder, educator, and director of Key Music Studio.
